Meet the Team

Liz Temple

Liz Temple

Owner and Director

My late husband Carl and I bought the practice in 2003. Carl qualified from Liverpool University in 1986. I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Berkshire College of Agriculture in 1987. In our youth we both enjoyed country upbringings, Carl in Kenya and Uganda, and me in the slightly less exotic but equally beautiful rural Buckinghamshire. We were both keen riders, Carl also loved playing rugby and I enjoyed cross country running and hockey. We married in 1998 and have two children, Henry and Emily. As a family we love visiting historic houses, countryside pursuits, skiing, walking and watching rugby.

In March this year, Carl sadly passed away aged 55 after a courageous and dignified battle with multiple myeloma.

I am very proud of my staff and the reputation we have built up over the years. Although we are a small practice this give us the advantage of genuine personal care for our clients and their pets. As you can see, we are well equipped with the diagnostic equipment and facilities a modern practice requires. The most valuable things we have are compassionate and dedicated staff, loyal clients and many, many furry friends!

  • BSc (Hons) BVetMed, OV, MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon & Clinical Director

Nominated as Petplan Vet of the Year awards 2017 and Nominated for Petplan Vet of the Year awards 2018.

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2005 and have worked in small animal practice ever since. I love all aspects of my work, but particularly enjoy surgery and emergency medicine. I have an interest in complimentary medicine and also have a degree in herbal medicine.

I understand perfectly the strong and important bond owners have with their pets and always to do my very best for each patient. It is a great privilege to be a vet and to meet and work with such wonderful patients.

When not working I love being active, the great outdoors and travelling to places off the beaten track! I am also very committed to animal rights. I have a rescue dog (see 'security') who accompanies me everywhere. He is thoroughly spoilt and leads a very charmed life and is definitely the boss of me!

Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1999 and started working at Noah's Ark in September 2003. After working for a few years, I took a career break to start a family and I am now the proud Mum to three beautiful girls. I rejoined the practice again in 2016.

In my spare time I enjoy walking my golden retriever Charlie, reading and cycling. I am also kept busy by my family, cat called Scratchy and hamster called Nibbles.

I enjoy all aspects of nursing but particularly enjoy doing nurse clinics and advising on behavioural problems. I have recently obtained my certificate in veterinary dental care.

Veterinary Nurse

My ambition to pursue a career in the veterinary profession began when I was at school. I had regular Saturday and holiday jobs at a local practice which confirmed that this is what I wanted to do.

After graduating for Nottingham University in 1997 with a degree in animal science I decided to begin the veterinary nurse training. I started training at a practice in St Albans and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2001. I started working at Noah's Ark Veterinary Clinic in 2003 after moving to Bedfordshire. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, socialising and looking after my cat, Meow!

I joined Noah's Ark in June 2015 after working at an equine clinic. Prior to this I worked at a small animal practice for 13 years.

In my spare time I enjoy competing in dressage competitions with my two horses Amara and Vegas. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family and snuggling up on the sofa with my very spoilt cat Justin.

Patient Care Assistant

I initially started working as a veterinary receptionist in 1999 and progressed to become a patient care assistant. I spent 14 years in my first practice and joined Noah's Ark in 2014. I am currently studying towards an auxillary nurse qualification.

In 2015 I adopted a little bedraggled stray kitten from the practice.  He has grown into a very handsome boy and goes by the name of Stanley! Stanley has to share my attention with 2 horses, Sassy and Harley. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding, eating out and holidays in the sun!

Ruth Key

Receptionist

I joined Noah's Ark team in October 2016 after spending the previous 6 years in a managerial and customer care role. I am a cheerful, positive person and will always greet you with a smile at reception.

I have always had a love for animals and so switching to a job where I am surrounded by animals all day was the obvious choice for me. I have 2 guinea pigs and recently rescued a lovely little dog called Lola. In my spare time I enjoy going to music festivals and dancing!

Jed Montgomery Burns

Jed Montgomery Burns

Head of Security

Jed is an extremely important and much loved member of the team. He is one of the hardest working members of staff and takes his role as head of security very seriously... however, it is a role he obviously finds quite tiring as he is often found asleep on the job!!

Jed is a rescue dog and now leads an extremely spoilt and charmed life under the care of Dr Burns. His interests are walking, playing, being chased, having a cuddle, eating, snoozing (generally with his head on a pillow and sprawled out on a bed) and wagging his tail !!!!!
